Main Street Fort Smith is excited to announce a new full-time position focused on growing and supporting downtown Fort Smith through strategic partnerships, business development, and community revitalization.
We're seeking a Downtown Growth & Grants Specialist—a proactive, community-minded professional who will work at the intersection of economic development and historic preservation. This role will support local businesses, research and apply for grant funding, manage special projects, and serve as a key connector between downtown stakeholders.

MINI - GRANT APPLICATION IS OPEN!
Main Street Fort Smith is excited to announce the launch of its first Mini-Grant Program, designed to support business and property owners located within the Main Street Fort Smith district with projects that preserve and enhance the area’s historic character.
Funded through Main Street Arkansas and the Arkansas Department of Heritage, the program will provide 50/50 reimbursement grants ranging from $1,500 to $7,500.
Application Information:
● Who’s eligible: Business and property owners within the Main Street Fort Smith district
● Applications open: October 1, 2025
● Deadline to apply: November 14, 2025
● Grant awards announced: No later than December 15, 2025
● Project completion deadline: April 15, 2026 (with possible 30-day extension at the discretion of the Executive Director)

Downtown Fort Smith Entertainment District
The downtown Fort Smith Entertainment District is where you’ll find some of the city’s best bars, restaurants, and entertainment. From 10am to 2am daily, patrons of the district can leave a restaurant or bar with a single, commercially branded cup of beer, wine, or mixed drink to be consumed within the boundaries of the district.
